I'm a storyteller. Here's a story.

When I was 15, a man in a bookstore asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. Without hesitation, I replied, “Writer.” To be honest, this is the one thing about myself I’ve never doubted.

Which, truth be told, is a big fricken deal, since I grew up a weirdly small, overly sheltered, asthmatic only child in a neighborhood that skewed very Golden Girls. To make matters worse, I'm a Virgo.

But rest assured, this lame backstory played its part in nurturing my talent. (It also nurtured years of therapy, but that's a story for another day.)

In my work, I’m as comfortable crafting messaging for brand campaigns as I am leading the scripting for national commercials, writing winning headlines, revamping web copy, or managing copy teams. Conceptualizing and executing are both my jam.

My experience has taken me to HR tech, a global bank, a personalized healthcare network, and a world-famous cemetery. In a previous life, I taught high school English, which just means that if you heckle me while I’m pitching, it won’t faze me.

Who am I outside of my career? I’m an award-winning indie author (see lskilroy.com), a wife, a stepmom, a cat lady, a Reiki practitioner, an epic dinner party hostess, and a retro-inspired ambivert (either ready to mingle OR hiding from you – but always dressed like an extra from Mad Men). And despite that, I’ll still belt out a show tune at karaoke (or anywhere, really).

What else? Only that I want to do great work that has meaning with people who mean something to me.

I look forward to working with you to make your words come alive, whatever they may be.
